Plant Synth Prototype

This is an analog synthesizer prototype that i designed and built for a showcase & performance during Mona Fileul's Party Mix exhibition at Krone Couronne (Biel/Bienne, Switzerland) from September 5 to November 9, 2024.

It is played by hooking it up to a plant (or skin, or any other conductive surface), which completes the oscillator circuit and allows for chaotic self-modulation. It also has sensors which react to light, and a pair of leds on the board which self-modulate the sound even more.

The sound can be manually mangled by touching the exposed copper traces on the printed circuit board. This allows for a great variety of sounds, like beeps or kicks or harsh noise, depending on how the synth is used.
